Summer Shadows

I thought the Winter Window was a "one and done" project simply because it something I was looking at for a long time and could only happen at a specific time of the year. Summer Shadows goes back to the same spot in my home but near the summer solstice. Winter Window and Summer Shadows are borne of extremes - the sun's extremes provide two completely different views of exactly the same spot.

There were a couple of surprises in this group of photographs. Some of the odd reflections on the walls came from a barbeque grill on the back deck, and the shadow of the camera and tripod reflected off the floor and onto the chair and wall were not expected at all.

The lesson learned from these two projects is that patience and vision are rewarded with a series of photographs covering an entire experience.
