Landscape, Washington, 2009 Image posted 06/06/2010
Sometimes I turn onto one lane dirt roads hoping to find that great landscape photograph. I was able to position myself off the road to make a good composition (after waiting for that nice cloud to move in – I needed that light object to balance the two dark abandoned cabins). I was enthusiastic about the first photograph made on this dirt road, the first of a series exploring man’s imprint on the landscape. Well, then I made the turn around that group of trees on the left and found the farmhouse. One road, one photo, another perfect square peg photograph- that’s all there was that afternoon.
