Natural Chilean Soda

We accustomed to seeing old fashioned signs in trendy restaurants. These are the same signs. They are not reproductions, they have been hanging in the store for decades.

The Check Out Counter

Local stores are idosyncratic, formed over the years by the owners and the needs of the customers. One of the photos I didn't make was a sign bearing the logo of a national hardware chain. It was unceremoniously dumped behind the store. The alternatives were to toe the corporate line or drop the affiliation. It is obvious which path was chosen.

This image is also available as a 10" x 12.5" pigment print on 13" x 19 " paper for $65.00

Tractors for Sale

I never asked if the Tractors were truly for sale, or they were the result of a young boy's long desired dream fulfilled.

Honest Abe Gloves

Marketing and store layout are now done after much marketing research and surveying. Well, not in Carpenter. The variety of products offered on this short shelf are amazing in their variety and use. Just to the right of the camera was an old barrel that held straw brooms and Vienna Sausage. I don't know why.

The boxes in the upper right corner of this photograph are remarkably consistent in appearance. It is the only time I have resorted to electronic chicanery to solve a compositional problem. Mea Culpa.

Loading Dock

One of the problems asociated with large format work in the South is the heat and humidity. Using Large Format equipment in the middle of the day is actually quite unpleasant. I photographed very early in the morning when the heat was bearable. Oh yes, and the light was lovely, too.
